Today I really felt like staying in bed, not much sleep, an aching left hip and throbbing feet.

Firstly breakfast at a great local cafe, real coffee and a good avocado smash. Then some sightseeing – The Blue Lake a crater lake. Next The Umpherston Sinkhole where there is a sunken garden, this has an otherworldly feel with overhanging ivy, limestone walls, many birds and a few bee colonies creating intricate sculptures attached to the rocks.

From tourists we become pilgrims again and start our shortest walk of this journey – along country roads. There are sheep, cows, alpacas a solitary bull and two beautiful horses.

Our lunch stop – along a pine plantation is followed by a short “silent” section through beautiful bush soft under foot and bracken as high as our shoulders.

It may have been my tiredness but I found today’s walk more emotional than any other so far. The walking enables the soul to release what perhaps we don’t even realise is bubbling at the surface.

We arrive at our accommodation for the evening a “Bush Retreat” in true Camino style there are dorms and of course I am in a top bunk. We have a wonderful afternoon playing word games, writing and just hanging out!

We share a communal BBQ with music playing and lots of laughter.

It may not have been a hard walk with lots of wow moments but it had some truly special moments for me.
