I’ve spent the day in Melbourne with friends, I feel like I have been a local if just for a day!
We visited the beautiful Botanical Gardens which are full of interesting garden areas and trees with girths you can’t hug.
We walked through some of the city’s laneways full of people eating lunch and making the most of a sunny Melbourne day.
We had our own pit stop at Brunetti Oro Hard to believe I was here just before heading off on my Camino adventure.
Then we visit the State Library of Victoria this is a great place, architecture, books, art – people studying, talking, just sitting and thinking – Wow definitely worth a visit!
I have caught the XPT Train overnight back to Sydney. Although I had a sleeper – sleep was a challenge.
Now I’m on another train taking me home to the Mountains.
And so the journey comes to an end. When your on Camino the journey is the thing it’s all consuming your walking, talking, learning, feeling, hurting – your focus is of the moment.
When you finish you have new memories, photos, stories, new friends, some of your past has been revisited, your dreams have been revealed and you feel fresh and renewed.
It’s been an amazing adventure. I am so thankful for the organisers, my fellow pilgrims, my friends in Melbourne who showed me their Melbourne and to anyone reading this who has enjoyed the adventure!
….as they say you need to start planning your next Camino on your way home – stay tuned!
