Day 27

Tonight I am staying in an Alburgue owned by young Spanish lady she has a small daughter and her Mum is here helping in the kitchen. We will have a Vegan meal this evening of Gazpacho, followed by a chickpea and vegetable soup with rice.

There is very cool modern Spanish music playing in the garden where all the pilgrims gather to enjoy a beer and watch our washing draw the little girl runs around and a large dog enjoys all the pats and attention.

Today’s walk was long and straight we had some shade from the Plane trees planted along the path. In the morning I walked with a young guy from Columbia, he is the first Columbian I have met on the Camino. He tells me only 180 are recorded as having walked a Camino last year.

As I leave the first town we visit this morning I see more of the amazing Storkes nests up in the church steeple, this one had chicks in it.

I collected this lovely sello, seal from a guy on the side of the road. You make a donation and you can choose a design. He has written in Spanish “the improbable guru”

Distance walked 20km

Elevation 850m

Total Distance walked so far 436.6

Song of the day; Bon Jovi, Livin on a Prayer, especially the chorus,

Whoa, we’re half way there
Whoa oh, livin’ on a prayer
Take my hand, we’ll make it, I swear
Whoa oh, livin’ on a prayer

Xx

Today I walked 12.5 kms 13,388 steps, which took over 2 hours in total which is a huge day for lazy me! I thought of you when thoughts of an Uber kept running through my head and kept going! Makes me appreciate what you’re doing even more! ❤️🤗 walking 🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♀️

The seal is gorgeous and I’m loving the idea of the “improbable guru”. Is he talking about himself or you? Very apt song of the day too. Keep on keeping on, Sharise.

I’m not sure who he is talking about, it was fun I thought he had just written the date and when I read it later I was surprised. Can’t wait to meet Biscuit. Xx
